Men’s basketball: Cardinals heat up, clip Golden Eagles
Braxton Tucker made 10 of 14 shots and finished with 22 points and seven rebounds as North Idaho caught fire in the second half and beat Southern Idaho 75-66 in a Scenic West Athletic Conference game Saturday night in Coeur d’Alene.
The Cardinals (20-10, 7-8) trailed by five at halftime, but outscored the Golden Eagles 43-29 in the second half.
Dallas Anglin scored 22 points and Charles Jackson added 15 points and 10 rebounds for CSI (26-4, 12-3).
Up next for the Cardinals is the SWAC tournament, held Feb. 27 through March 1 in Ephraim, Utah.
Big Bend 81, CC Spokane 76: Brendan Westendorf had 24 points and 12 rebounds and the Vikings (21-7, 10-4) edged the Sasquatch in a NWAACC game in Moses Lake.
Chase Haack scored 20 points and Dean Richey added 18 points, five rebounds and five assists for CCS (17-11, 7-7).
Despite the loss, the Sasquatch secured the Eastern division’s fourth berth to the NWAACC tournament, which will be held March 1 through March 4 in Kennewick.
