Obituary: Johns, Steven M.

JOHNS, Steven M. (Age 62) Steve passed away peacefully with his family and brother near his side after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on December 29, 2013 at The Spokane Hospice House.

Steve was born on December 20, 1951 in Spokane, Washington to Hal and Dodie Johns.

He graduated from North Central High School in 1970 and Eastern Washington University in 1974 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business.

Steve worked for Hygrade Meat as a salesman for five years in Great Falls, MT before returning to Spokane to start and run Top Line Food Sales for 25 years.

Steve loved nothing more than sharing his cabin at Loon Lake with others to create a timeless haven for family and friends.

Almost any day during the summer you could find Steve on his jet ski somewhere on the lake.

Many summer days along with many New Years were spent at the lake with his family and friends, where his family has had a cabin since 1957.

We all thank you, Steve, for those memories.

Steve is survived by his children, Chad (Gracie) Johns of Billings, MT and Kelli (John) Daschbach of Spokane; and brother, Gary (Anna) Johns of San Diego, CA.

Steve had many friends who could count on Steve to be there when they needed him.

He always had a smile on his face and could always make others laugh.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy, in 2003 and both parents in 2012.

The family is very thankful for Hospice of Spokane.

Please make donations in lieu of flowers to Hospice of Spokane, P. O.
