Author Susan Carr Presents her book, “The Ballad of Desiree,” with a concert and reading. The book takes place in very different locations, including the burgeoning Seattle music scene. “The Devil and Billy Markham” The story of Billy Markham, an unforgettable character who never met a bet he didn’t take, including that of his very own soul. Markham journeys from Nashville’s Music Row down into the fiery pits of hell and back again as he matches wits with God, the Devil and everyone in between. The story by Shel Silverstein first appeared as a six-part epic poem in the January 1979 edition of Playboy magazine and subsequently as a one-act play at Lincoln Center in 1989. “My Fair Lady” Today-July 27. Presented by The Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre. Long hailed as “the perfect musical.” Lerner and Loewe’s masterpiece will be the centerpiece of Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre’s exciting 2014 season. Audiences will fall in love with the cockney Eliza Doolittle as Henry Higgins painstakingly coaches her towards gentility – while learning something of his own humility in the process. “Let’s Murder Marsha” Today-Aug. 1. Dinner theater experience presented by Empire Theatre Company LLC, a new company of seasoned community actors. This play tells the story of Marsha Gilmore, a mystery novel enthusiast who thinks that her husband is trying to kill her. With a little help from her friends, she goes on a journey to stop her murder in a show filled with mistaken identities, miscommunications and nonstop laughs.
