How to help

The Red Cross has set up emergency shelters and is providing supplies for the dozens of families displaced by the wildfires in the Pateros and Brewster area.

More than 160 people were sheltered by the organization Thursday night and Friday, including 80 at Chelan High School; 83 at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church in Omak; and seven people at the Grange in Twisp.

• Emergency donations can be made to American Red Cross Disaster Relief.

• Donations can be directed by noting the Apple Valley Chapter based in Wenatchee.

• Visit or call (800) REDCROSS.
