Obituary: Oestreich, Chris
Chris was born March 16, 1959 in Spokane, Washington, and was a lifelong resident of Ritzville.
He was the eldest of five children born to Pete and Erma Oestreich of Ritzville, Washington.
Chris knew at a very early age that his career would be driving a truck.
He was employed as a commercial truck driver for over 33 years for Snider Trucking in Ritzville.
He was a man of hard work and integrity and was very dedicated to his career.
Chris was versatile and talented at many things, including being able to fix anything mechanical.
Most of all, his quick wit, personality, and huge heart were truly unequalled.
Chris was one of those rare souls that would literally give you the shirt off his back if that’s what you needed.
He was a loyal father, son, brother, and a wonderful lifelong friend to many in the Ritzville area.
His friends affectionately referred to him as “Hubert.”
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his two children, daughter Christyn Oestreich (22) of Spokane, Washington, and son Michael Oestreich (16) of Ritzville, Washington; his parents, Pete and Erma Oestreich, Ritzville, Washington; and his siblings: sister Kimberlee (Randy) Cameron, brother Joel (Brigitte) Oestreich, sister Lisa (Andrew Berg) Oestreich-Berg, all of Spokane, Washington; and sister Gina (Matt) Sudden, of Post Falls, Idaho.
He was also Uncle Chris to Mark and Eric Oestreich and Sarah and Megan Findley.
The family would especially like to thank Chris’ best friends, Rich Allert and Jeffrey Snider, for their tremendous support during this difficult time.
At Chris’ request, there will be no service; however, there will be a gathering of friends and family to remember Chris on the 21st of June 2014, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at his home in Ritzville at 402 W. Third.
Everyone is welcome to stop by and share their memories of Chris.
Danekas Funeral Home, Ritzville, Washington, was entrusted with final arrangements.
