Animal Adoption Fair The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Officers seized more than 100 animals during an animal abuse investigation in January. Now the Sheriff’s Office is in need of finding homes for 39 guinea pigs and 57 rabbits that were seized and have been turned over to the Sheriff’s Office. Most of the other animals involved in this case have already been adopted out. The animals are now in good health; if you are interested in adopting one or more of these animals please come to this adoption fair. The animals are free to good homes. 11th Annual Parade of Paws You, your dog, friends and family members are welcome to join the Spokane Humane Society in raising funds to provide food, shelter and veterinary care to the unwanted, neglected and abandoned animals in our community. The walk begins at 10 a.m. from the shelter, with registration starting at 8 a.m. Early registration is available today from noon to 7 p.m. at the shelter. Walkers are asked to collect pledge donations from their family, friends, co-workers and anyone else who wants to help the animals. 23rd Annual Pride Parade and Rainbow Festival Parade Starts downtown with staging at 11 a.m., parade at noon and the festival immediately following from noon-5:30 p.m. The festival is in Gondola Meadows, by the Bloomsday statues.
