Liberty Lake Blotter: Parent reports case of cyberbullying

A case of cyberbullying was reported to Liberty Lake Police on Feb. 19. A parent reported that a social media account had been set up using a photo of her child.

The site reportedly included offensive language and a link to a pornographic website, said Liberty Lake Police Chief Brian Asmus. The case is under investigation.

A shoplifter was reported in the 1300 block of North Liberty Lake Road on Feb. 19. A young woman reportedly put several items in a bag and ran away. She got into a car that drove away at high speed, Asmus said.

Other incidents from Feb. 18-24

Feb. 23: An alarm was reported at a business in the 22000 block of East Appleway Avenue. An officer discovered a bird flying around inside that was flying into doors and windows.

A burglary was reported in the 1600 block of North Aladdin Road. A resident reported nearly $5,000 in missing items. An officer could not find any signs of forced entry.

Arrests: Police made two arrests for driving with a suspended license and one for driving under the influence.

Citations: Officers handed out two citations for expired vehicle registration and two for failure to show proof of liability insurance. Additional citations were given for allowing an unauthorized driver, speeding, second-degree negligent driving and failure to wear a safety belt.
