In brief: SCLD introducing language software
SPOKANE COUNTY – Spokane County’s Library District is introducing new computer software that can teach users 80 different languages, as well as English as a second language based on 50 foreign languages.
The software is called Pronunciator, and it focuses on quickly building conversational skills.
It’s available for smartphone and tablet use, as well as for computer use at the library or at home. It may be used by children as well as adults.
Use of the software is free, and it’s available for Spokane County Library cardholders at www.scld.org/ digital-library/.

‘New Digs’ to star FHS parents, staff
SOUTHWEST SPOKANE – This year’s parent-produced and -performed show at Ferris High School is called “New Digs For Cool Pigs - #FablesFromthe AuditoriHAM.”
The show celebrates the newly finished remodeling of Ferris High School by featuring 250 parents and their hidden singing and dancing talents.
Dress rehearsal is on March 23, at 2 p.m., followed by performances daily March 26-29 at 7 p.m. and a matinee on March 29 at 1:30 p.m.
Tickets are $7-$9 and are available from each cast member, the Ferris High School Business Office, 3020 E. 37th Ave. and at 2nd Look Books, 2829 E. 29th Ave.; Round Table Pizza, 4510 S. Regal St.; and Rosauers, 2610 E. 29th Ave.
