Obituary: Pasini, Robert Peter “Bob”
Age 59
He was born in Uniondale, NY on September 20th, 1954 to parents, Peter and Teresa Pasini.
He was followed four years later by his sister, Dorothy (Petro).
He graduated from Branham High School in San Jose, CA in 1973.
He joined the Navy in 1974 and was in active service until 1979.
A Vietnam Veteran, Bob was a 2nd Class Petty Officer - part of the handpicked commissioned crew (Plank Owners) of the USS Elliot.
Bob’s Shellback Ceremony (crossing the equator) was in 1979.
He married the love of his life, Susan (Nowlin), on September 16th, 1978 in San Jose, CA.
Bob’s second greatest love, was the sea.
Expert sailors, Bob and Susan were familiar figures to the San Francisco Bay sailing community, the Port Townsend Wooden Boat Show, and the San Juan Islands.
Bob’s love of boats led him to achieve his Master’s 100 Ton Captain’s license.
He dreamed of a life moving boats around the world with Susan at his side.
Unfortunately, that would never happen.
Bob was diagnosed with Multiple Symptoms Atrophy (MSA).
Undaunted, Bob used the time he had to help others and to fill every moment.
A brilliant computer technician, he fixed all things electrical and computer.
He was an active member of Crossover Church.
And, he had a keen mind and sense of humor that stayed with him all the way to the end.
Bob is survived by his wife Susan, his parents (Peter and Teresa), sister Dorothy (Bill), in laws (Dr. Donald and Jane Nowlin), brother-in-law David Nowlin (Michelle), sister-in-law Sandra Burgess (David), nine nieces and nephews, two great-nieces, and multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The funeral will be held Saturday, May 10th at 11am at Crossover Church on 16825 N. Newport Hwy, Mead, WA.
A reception at the church will follow the service.
