Four-time Grammy winner jazz trumpeter Arturo Sandoval – a protege of the legendary jazz master Dizzy Gillespie – is fluent in musical languages from bebop to classical. This genuine jazz legend will bring his talents to the North Side in a concert with Whitworth University’s Jazz Ensemble.

2: ‘The Glass Menagerie’

In Tennessee Williams’ classic play, aspiring poet Tom brings home a gentleman caller to meet his painfully shy sister, Laura, and his faded Southern belle mother. What follows is an encounter that becomes a touching and profound tale of love and loss, illusion and escape.

3: 19th Annual Fall Folk Festival

5: Tedeschi Trucks Band

Eleven-member collective led by husband-wife duo Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi. Their debut, “Revelator” landed a Best Blues Album Grammy as well as a Blues Music Award for Album of the Year. They continued that momentum with 2012’s live follow-up, “Everybody’s Talkin.’ ”
