“Face Me” - A showing of a local film about people who are homeless in Spokane as well as an exhibit of original photography by Dan Baumer and Karmen Naccarato. The film will screen every 15 minutes. All proceeds go to support Brigid’s Cloak, Spokane’s only all-volunteer, late-night homeless outreach program. Today, 5 p.m., 228 W. Sprague Ave. $5, or a donation of a winter accessory. “Maleficent” - Teen movie with snacks provided. A vengeful fairy (Angelina Jolie) is driven to curse an infant princess (Elle Fanning), only to discover that the child may be the one person who can restore peace to their troubled land. Rated PG. “The Kill Team” - When Private Adam Winfield, a 21-year-old soldier in Afghanistan, witnessed members of his platoon murder innocent civilians, he attempted to alert the military to these war crimes with the help of his father. Left on his own and with threats to his life, Winfield was drawn into the moral abyss, forced to make a split-second decision that would change his life forever. Unrated. “A Simple Life” - After suffering a stroke, an altruistic maid announces that she wants to quit her job and move into an old people’s home. The University of Idaho Confucius Institute invites you to Chinese Movie Night. Each film will have a brief introduction by a visiting South China University of Technology instructor. There will be a discussion of the film and its cultural significance with the visiting instructor who is a specialist in Chinese cinema and film culture.
