Show crossover takes spotlight on NBC

Chuck Barney Mcclatchy-Tribune

Don’t miss

NBC’s three-way crossover: It’s November sweeps, and that means it’s time for some wild TV tricks. Get ready to witness the harmonic convergence of “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago P.D.” and “Law & Order: SVU.” The shows, all produced by Dick Wolf, will share a story line about a child pornography ring that stretches from Chicago to New York. Can they pull it off? The crossover starts with “Chicago Fire” (10 p.m., Tuesday) and continues with “Law & Order: SVU” (9 p.m., Wednesday) and “Chicago P.D.” (10 p.m., Wednesday).

Other bets

SUNDAY: “Futurama” lives again – for one night, at least. In a crossover with “The Simpsons,” the Planet Express crew – including cranky robot Bender – time-travels to 21st-century Springfield to prevent a global disaster. 8 p.m., Fox.

SUNDAY: The third and final season of “The Newsroom” finds our cable TV news hounds facing two explosive situations: the possibility of a hostile takeover of the network, and leaked classified documents that unleash a legal firestorm. 9 p.m., HBO.

SUNDAY: “The Comeback” is, indeed, making a comeback. Lisa Kudrow’s comedy about the misadventures of “B-level” celebrity Valerie Cherish returns from cancellation, looking to stir up more reality TV shenanigans. 10 p.m., HBO.

MONDAY: It’s time to really face the music on “The Voice.” The show’s top 20 contestants perform as the playoff rounds begin. 8 p.m., NBC.

MONDAY: “Ice Warriors: USA Sled Hockey” is a compelling new documentary that looks at the U.S. sled hockey team as it prepares for the Paralympic Games in Sochi, Russia. The superfast, rugged sport has been called “murderball on blades.” 10 p.m., KSPS and KCDT.

TUESDAY: “Navy SEALs: Their Untold Story” is a documentary that delves into the history and most riveting missions of the special-ops force that began during World War II, when it played an important role in the D-Day invasion in Normandy, France. Included: Previously unseen footage, home movies and comments from former SEALs. 8 p.m., KSPS; 9 p.m., KCDT.

WEDNESDAY: Uh-oh. It seems that our masked vigilante on “Arrow” has a crazed fan. Tonight we meet a young woman named Cupid (Amy Gumenick), who might be taking her obsessive love of Oliver to the extreme. 8 p.m., The CW.

THURSDAY: “Scandal” has only two more episodes before it takes a winter break, and tonight’s hour is titled “The Last Supper.” We don’t like the sound of that. 9 p.m., ABC.

FRIDAY: Queen Latifah is our host for the first televised edition of Hollywood Film Awards. As you know, prime time desperately needs one more awards show. 8 p.m., CBS.

SATURDAY: “Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B” is a new TV film that recalls the life of the young pop sensation who died in a plane crash at the height of her fame. Alexandra Shipp stars in the title role. 8 p.m., Lifetime.
