Classes and workshops

Fall Art Class at the Whitman Library ACT2 of the Community Colleges of Spokane will offer a color theory and practice course with Lisa Soranka. Participants will then use watercolors and pastels to practice their color knowledge and learn the basics of color mixing. Saturday, 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m. $16/person, supplies will be provided. Hands-on Holiday Fun The City of Moscow, the Moscow Arts Commission, and the Heart of the Arts Inc. will host this art workshop for children ages 6-10. Kids will have an opportunity to make holiday ornaments to take home. Dec. 6, 9-11:30 a.m. $25/person, supplies included. Registration required by Dec. 4. Spirit Charm Necklace workshop The Spokane Art School will offer a Spirit Charm Necklace workshop with Jerri Shepard for adults. Students will have an opportunity to create a personalized necklace. Participants are welcome to bring their own charms, beads and religious medals. Handcrafted silver bales, leather cords, charms and beads, jump rings, and jewelry pliers will be provided. Call for photographers

Spokane Ag Expo 2015 Photography Contest Local photographers are invited to submit their photographs for the Ag Expo’s “Agriculture in the Inland Northwest” photography contest. Photos must be in either color or black and white, with a minimum size of 8-by-10 inches and maximum size of 11-by-14 inches. Photos cannot be framed and must be mounted on cardboard or matting. Photographers can enter a maximum of four photos. Winners in each category will be judged by area photographers, based on theme, composition and creativity. Entry deadline is Nov. 21.
