Obituary: Evans, Harriet P.
Age 90
She was born to Vernon and Eva Merriman in Spokane on April 8, 1924.
Harriet was raised in Spokane and graduated from North Central High School in 1943.
After graduating she moved to Portland, OR, returning to Spokane in 1950 and beginning her 38 year career at Kaiser Aluminum.
Harriet was a devoted mother and dedicated grandmother.
She had a passion for cooking and entertaining, hosting frequent family dinners and gatherings.
Harriet also enjoyed gardening, music, dancing and any outdoor activity she could indulge in.
She was a lifelong member the Community of Christ Church.
Harriet was preceded in death by her husband Harold Evans; her longtime companion and the love of her life, Harley Boline; twin brother Howard Merriman; and her sister Verna Merriman Drapeau.
She is survived by her children: Elise E. Gumm (Greg) and Elaine V. Briley (Bob); brother Austin Merriman; seven grandchildren, three great-granddaughters and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 from 10:00AM to 5:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 12:30PM at the Fairmount Memorial Park Sunset Chapel, 5200 W. Wellesley.
