Obituary: Milnes, Jacob Thomas

Age 41

MILNES, Jacob Thomas (Age 41) Jake was born July 24, 1973 in Spokane, Washington.

He passed away in Seattle, Washington on August 28, 2014 surrounded by friends and family.

He was a devoted husband and father of four children, who had a caring heart and a special passion for life.

Jake grew up in the Spokane Valley, graduated from Central Valley High School, Eastern Washington University and earned a MS degree in Mathematics from University of California, San Diego.

He was introduced to his future wife Kristen by his sister Gudrun, they quickly fell for each other and tied the knot in Tuxedo, New York.

They were married nearly 11 years moving from Phoenix, to Spokane, to Seattle, and finally settling in Woodinville, WA.

Jake was an advocate of the underdog and built his values on commitment, dedication, and love.

He instilled these values in his family and expected these same values from his friends.

He was always very generous with his time and talents.

From being a two time coach of the year for pee wee football to business owner to musician to Seahawks fan to an amazing friend, he lent support to all around him and always was gave 100% of himself.

Most importantly, as a dad, Jake provided his family with a legacy of generosity, love, and devotion.

He is survived by his wife Kristen Marshall; his four children Jake, Owen, Sawyer, and Brodie; his mother Norma Milnes; and his siblings Jeff Leonard, Gudrun Sullivan, and Jenifer Penington.

A memorial celebration will be held September 7, 2014 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Redmond Senior Center, 8703 160th Avenue NE, Redmond, WA 98052.
