Area roundup: Missouri outlast Vandals at invite
Emily Wilson tallied 23 kills as the Missouri Tigers (5-4) outlasted Idaho for a 25-14, 17-25, 25-17, 19-25, 15-10 volleyball victory Thursday night in the Idaho Nike Invitational in Moscow, Idaho.
Becca Mau led the Vandals (2-6) with 14 kills and Katelyn Peterson added 18 digs to lead UI, which plays Boise State tonight at 7 in Memorial Gym.

Pullman 3, West Valley 1: Lizzy George had 13 kills to lead the Greyhouds to a 25-16, 21-25, 25-17, 25-17 win over the host Eagles in a league opener for both teams. Chelsea Bone added 18 assists and Melissa Langerveld had 16 digs to help the Greyhounds get the season started with a win. Erin Higbie paced West Valley with 13 kills and 13 digs.
East Valley 3, Cheney 0: Jordan Phelan had nine kills and four blocks as the visiting Knights swept the Blackhawks 25-22, 25-12, 25-19 in a league opener for both teams. Emily Sior had 23 assists and Shalyn Stack added four aces for the Knights.

West Valley 7, Pullman 0: Morgan Williams scored twice and added an assist, and the Eagles opened with a victory over the visiting Greyhounds in a league opener. Alexa Lee, Jenna Sullens, Ashley Meyer, Paeton Ferguson and Abby Swanson also scored for the Eagles, who outshot the Greyhounds 23-2.
East Valley 5, Cheney 1: Skylar Bastin scored a hat trick and added an assist to lead the Knights over the host Blackhawks in a GNL opener. Bastin was involved in all three goals in the first half, scoring two and assisting on the third.
