11th Annual Studio Art Tour Saturday and Sunday. Self-guided tour of six home studios with 39 artists and their various media on Spokane’s North Side. Each studio will have music and hors d’oeuvres, and four to seven artists of varying media will be on hand to answer questions and provide information about the art. Spokane County Interstate Fair 2014 Continues through Sunday. Live music, animals, exhibits, amusement rides, food and much more. U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West Wild West Winds tour presents free concerts in North Idaho and Eastern Washington by the clarinet quartet from Travis Air Force Base, California. The Wild West Winds showcases a wide-range of musical styles, such as marches, patriotic, popular, jazz and classical music. Today, 7 p.m., Salvation Army Kroc Center, 1765 W. Spokane Heart & Stroke Walk/5K Run Runners, walkers and kids can support the local American Heart Association and American Stroke Association through this event with activities for all ages. Heart and stroke survivors, community teams and company teams are all welcome. The 5K walk is noncompetitive; the 5K run is chipped and timed and is now a second seed 2015 qualifier for Bloomsday. Proceeds help prevent, treat and defeat heart disease and stroke, the No. 1 and No. 4 killers of Americans. Register at SpokaneHeartWalk.org or call for more information. Mudgy and Millie Birthday Party Annual event hosted by the Coeur d’Alene Public Library. “Mudgy & Millie” author Susan Nipp and sculptor Terry Lee will be there to sign copies of the book. The celebration will also feature a group reading and singing, an appearance by Mudgy and Millie, photo opportunities, and, of course, birthday cake. Kids who already have the book can get a special birthday stamp. Copies of the book as well as Mudgy and Millie plush toys are available to buy. Proceeds benefit the Library Foundation. Fall Festival Eighth annual event. See antique farm equipment in action and watch craftspeople demonstrating what they create. A “Junk in your Trunk” swap meet and sale allows participants to show off their classic automobiles and/or sell vehicle-related parts or the cars, trucks cycles or tractors themselves. Purchase pie a la mode following the judging of the pie baking contest. See antiques from Junette Dahmen’s private collection and try to guess their names and uses. Pizza made on site and a beer garden. Activities for kids, including face painting. Raffle of quilt by St. Boniface Altar Society. Little Smoke Cigar Festival Celebrate smoking at this annual gathering.
