Obituary: Julian, John A.

JULIAN, John A. John A. Julian, born in Spokane, WA on September 22, 1924 to parents Carmen Guillani and Esther Troiani both from Novelli L’Aquila, Abruzzi, Italy.

Carmen Guillani’s name was changed to Carmen Julian upon entering the United States.

John attend- ed St. Ann Grade School and graduated from Gonzaga Prep.

When John graduated from high school he received his induction notice and served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1943 to 1945.

John was sent to the 3rd Strategic Air Depot, AAF 505 8th Air Force in Watton, England.

After nine months he was transferred to the 2nd Air Division, 8th Air Force in Hardwick, England.

John repaired war damaged B-24 bombers assigned to the 461st Sub Depot, battle damage repair and modifications.

John married Gloria Scioly in November 1949, she was a Marycliff High School graduate.

He went to work for U.S. Macaroni Company in 1949, retired in 1989.

Upon retiring John and Gloria enjoyed travelling and working on home improvement projects together.

They went to Europe as well as took many trips in their motor home.

Gloria passed away in 1994.

John is survived by his two sisters, Emily and Gilda; children, John and Phyllis; grandchildren: Michael, Rich, Dana and Krista, great-grandchildren: Roman, Issiah and Issiac and many nephews and nieces.

John enjoyed 20 years of companionship with his close special friend Elda Close.

Viewing will be Thursday April 9th, 3:00PM to 7:00PM at Hennessy Funeral Home, 1315 N. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA.

A Funeral Mass service will be held on Friday April 10th, 11:00AM at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Spokane Valley, WA.
