Margaret Kunkel

Margaret F. Ralph Kunkel is 100 years old today.

She was born on April 27, 1915, in Goteburg, Sweden. She has lived at Brookdale Place at Northpointe since March 2014.

A celebration was held April 14 for Kunkel and another Brookdale Place resident, Dorothy Kuhta, who turned 100 on April 11. (See cover story, C1.)

Kunkel met her husband, Lester Kunkel, in Belfast, Maine, and the couple were married in 1935.

Margaret Kunkel said her most rewarding life achievement was earning her real estate broker’s license and credits her friends and her enjoyment of life with helping her live a long and healthy life. She said her whole life has been memorable.

Kunkel has one child: Richard Kunkel, of Colbert. She has three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
