Obituary: Henderson, Frank
Age 92
Frank, the son of Raymond and Elizabeth Henderson was born December 6, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois.
Frank passed away peacefully surrounded by family and close friends at Hospice House of North Idaho after a long battle with cancer.
In December of 2006, Frank married his best friend Betty Ann Nelson and spent several wonderful years together.
Frank is survived by Betty Ann and from his former 55 year marriage to Lillian Henderson (who preceded him in death on September 7th, 2005) four of their five children (Steven Henderson, Jennifer Amaya, Tom Henderson and Jane Mamer), six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Frank was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Parnell and great-grandson Christopher Budge II.
Frank attended the University of Idaho and served with the U.S. Army 33rd Division during World War II.
Frank subsequently reported for the Chicago Herald American Newspaper and worked as a marketing executive.
In 1976, he returned to Idaho to own and operate the Post Falls Tribune.
Frank served as Post Falls Mayor, Kootenai County Commissioner, and as the oldest serving Idaho State Representative serving for five terms.
In between public service, Frank was a foreign consultant for Public Administration and Economic Development.
Frank loved the outdoors, as demonstrated by his decades of distinguished service to the Boy Scouts of America, love of camping and fishing.
Frank was a founding member of the Post Falls American Legion Post 143 and received the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for Volunteerism and was inducted into the Idaho Hall of Fame in 2014.
His hard work and dedication will continue to benefit those he touched.

Memorial service for Frank will be Saturday (May 2nd) at 1:00 pm at Real Life Ministries (Building 1), 1866 N. Cecil Road, Post Falls, Idaho with The Rev.
Craig Sumey and Fr.
Roger Lachance officiating.
Reception will follow at the Post Falls American Legion Post 143, 1138 E Poleline Ave., Post Falls, Idaho.
