Obituary: Muotka, David Jon
Dave was born on April 1st, 1944 to Toivo and Adelia Muotka in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
Growing up, Dave loved the outdoors spending a lot of time barbecuing and water skiing on Swan Lake with family and friends.
He graduated from Greenway High School in Coleraine, MN in May of 1962.
Married twice in his 20s, Dave had three daughters: Rene, Holly, and Dawn who all remained in the Minnesota area.
Dave remarried Signe Rose Herzog in 1972.
In 1976, David completed a Bachelor of Applied Studies from the University of Minnesota with certificates in chemical dependency counseling and human services.
From 1976-1987 David worked in the field of Chemical Dependency Counseling providing treatment, consultation, and supervision.
Dave often spoke of these ten years of his life as his most meaningful.
Dave and Signe had daughter Heidi in 1982.
From the late 80s to late 90s, David worked as a Realtor in Spokane, WA.
Dave separated from his wife Signe in 2000 and spent the last 15 years in the Spokane area.
He enjoyed going to senior groups and making new friends and in most recent years came to know and walk with the Lord.
Dave most loved spending time with his granddaughter Hailey whom he would watch after school sometimes.
Being a grand- father was his greatest joy!
Dave is survived by daughter Heidi Huff of Spokane, WA and grandchildren Hailey and Landon.
David’s memorial service will be at 10:30AM on Saturday, May 2nd, 2015 at Opportunity Presbyterian Church, 202 N. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA 99206.
