Obituary: Hobbs, Patricia (Kees)

Age 91

HOBBS, Patricia (Kees) (Age 90) Our wonderful mother passed away on Monday, July 27, at Hospice House South.

She was born in Cottonwood, Idaho on August 15, 1924 to Joseph and Aloysia Kees.

After graduating from high school, she immediately went to work for Boeing in Seattle as a machinist for the B27.

She met a handsome sailor from Oklahoma, Cecil Hobbs, and they were wed in 1943.

So began mom’s life as a tough World War II Navy wife, learning to pack up the household at a moment’s notice and move to the next duty station.

She got to experience life in Hawaii, Alaska, California, Maryland and Massachusetts before settling down in Kansas and eventually Spokane, WA.

Mom worked many years as an insurance agent for Metropolitan Mortgage & Securities and retired in 1974.

She and dad were very involved at St. Charles Catholic Church, as well as the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

She is survived by three of her children, sons Marshall, Clayton (Dorie), daughter Diane (Larry).

Her eight grandchildren and 11 great-grands were the absolute delight of her life.

This remarkable woman was dearly loved and words cannot express how much she will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil of 55 years, and son Bradford Hobbs.

Funeral service will be held at St. Charles Catholic Church on August 7th at 10 am.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane.
