Obituary: Egolf, Janet C.
Age 85
She was 85 years old.
Janet was born July 10, 1930 in Spokane to Fred and Jessie Robinson.
She was a graduate of North Central High School and received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington.
Janet most recently worked as an administrative assistant for the carpenters’ apprenticeship training program, where she retired in 1997 to enjoy summers at Priest Lake.
Janet’s love of adventure and travel took her to many countries.
Her adventurous spirit and employment with the U.S. Foreign Service, took her to New Delhi, India, where she met her one and only, George Egolf, a Marine and fun-loving man.
They were married in October 1960.
Their first child Susan was born in Cairo, Egypt.
They returned to the Spokane area shortly thereafter where their second child Chuck was born.
Upon their return to Spokane, Janet was eager to introduce her husband to Priest Lake and the cabin her father had built in 1928.
George and Janet spent every summer at the cabin with family and friends.
To say that Janet loved Priest Lake would be an understatement.
This beautiful lake was her heart and home.
Janet loved animals and was a very talented seamstress.
She loved to make clothing for her family and took great pride in her work.
She will be remembered for her whimsical smile and clever sense of humor.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Susan Linderman of Greenacres, Washington; son, Chuck Egolf of Spokane, his wife, Lynn St. Louis; and brother, Alan Robinson and his wife Sharon of Mead, Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George, and sister Lois Hogan.
A Celebration of Janet’s Life will be held on August 15, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Inn at Priest Lake, Coolin Idaho.
Memorial contributions to honor Janet’s wonderful life can be made to the Hospice House of Spokane or the Humane Society.
