Buried in Treasures Hoarding Facilitated Workshop - Sept. 9 to Nov. 25. Have your possessions taken over your house, life and social calendar? Would you like to learn tips on how to de-clutter and stop over-acquiring from people who know what it’s like? Lightening the Load is offering a 12-week “Buried in Treasure” facilitated support group for individuals with hoarding issues. Hoarding is when individuals continue to accumulate items, such as clothes, newspapers and food, and then have persistent difficulty discarding possessions. Individuals with hoarding behaviors often face health issues related to falls, as well as run the risk of losing their homes. Paws in the Pool - Aug. 23-24. On Sunday, dogs weighing up to 59 pounds can swim from 1-2:15 p.m.; dogs weighing 60 pounds or more can swim from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m. On Monday, dogs weighing up to 40 pounds or more can swim from 5:30-6:45 p.m. Dogs must be 6 months or older and you must bring current vaccination record. This year’s theme is “Dive Right In!” The fair offers live music, carnival rides and games, food vendors, arts and crafts, livestock, contests and community exhibits. Come Feed the Buffalo - Through Sept. 30. Take a tour of the Win-Tur Bison Farm. Visitors learn the farm’s history and bison facts during a slide presentation and Q&A session, as well as the opportunity to meet and greet the herd and hand-feed the buffalo.
