In brief: Canadian teen leads LPGA Cambia Portland Classic

Golf: Canadian teen Brooke Henderson opened a five-stroke lead Saturday in the Cambia Portland Classic, shooting a 7-under 65 at Columbia Edgewater in Portland.

The 17-year-old Henderson is trying to join Lydia Ko and Lexi Thompson as the only players to win an LPGA Tour title before turning 18. Henderson made seven birdies on a warm, calm day.

Morgan Pressel was second after a 65.

Dungey rolls at Utah

Motorcycle racing: Ryan Dungey wrapped up his third Lucas Oil Pro Motocross season title with one event left, sweeping the Utah National motos at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah.

The Red Bull KTM rider raced his sixth 450 Class victory of the season and 44th overall.

Grand Arch wins

Horse racing: Grand Arch held off Ironicus by a neck in the Grade 2 $500,000 Fourstardave at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York.

In the co-feature, Ron Winchell’s Just Wicked emerged from a stretch duel with favored Tonasah for a 1 1/4-length victory in the Grade 2, $200,000 Adirondack for 2-year-old fillies.

Illini’s Paul arrested

College basketball: Illinois forward Darius Paul was sent home from the team’s European exhibition tour for violating unspecified team rules.

Paul was arrested around 5 a.m. Friday in Deauville, France, after reports of Paul breaking windows and damaging vehicles. He is charged with vandalism, public intoxication and resisting arrest.

Irish lose DT Jones

College football: Notre Dame defensive tackle Jarron Jones, who had 40 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks last year, is out for the season with a right knee injury.

Biles retains title

Gymnastics: Simone Biles won her third straight U.S. national gymnastics title, pulling away from a field packed with Olympians at Indianapolis.

Biles posted a two-round total of 124.100, nearly five points ahead of Maggie Nichols in a sport typically decided by fractions.

Three-time Olympic medalist Aly Raisman was third.
