Obituary: Hughes, Curt Alan
Age 63
Curt spent his childhood in Wenatchee and Ephrata, WA.
He attended Eastern Washington University where he received his education in geology.
Curt married Susan Johnson in 1973 and had three children.
He spent his career working for the US Bureau of Mines in Spokane, WA and for the USGS in Charleston, WV and Portland, OR.
Curt retired from the USGS in 2011 and remarried Prissana Poolphol of Koh Samui, Thailand that same year.
Curt spent his retirement splitting his time between Portland and Thailand.
Curt will be remembered for his sense of humor, his passion for the outdoors including camping, hiking, climbing, cycling, and skiing; and his love for traveling.
Curt is survived by his wife Prissana and her daughter May; his sister, Diane Vaux; his biological children, Amy Joyce, Brett Hughes, and Matt Hughes, and seven grandchildren.
There will be a Celebration of Life gathering in Portland on August 22nd, 2015 to remember his life.
Curt is greatly missed by all his family.
