UI senior set to stage directorial debut, ‘Vigils’
University of Idaho senior Kadin McGreevy has just returned from a weeklong apprenticeship at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
This week, he’s staging his full-length directorial debut, “Vigils” by Noah Haidle, starring Maiya Corral, Micheal Smith, Kevin O’Connell and Michael Brandt.
McGreevy won his apprenticeship thanks to the opening scene of “Vigils.” In February, he took first place at the Region 7 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in Ellensburg. Then in April, he competed at the National Kennedy Center American College Festival, winning the Stage Directing and Choreographers National Directing Fellowship, a $500 cash prize and residency.
While at the Kennedy Center, he worked with nationally recognized theater leaders and took part in playwriting and directing intensives.
“Vigils” will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at Prichard Art Gallery, 414 S. Main St. in Moscow. The performances are free.
