Obituary: Buergel, Anthony F. “Tony”
Age 73
He was born July 28, 1942 to Mark and Marguerite Buergel in Spokane, WA.
He lived in Malden and was a graduate of Rosalia High School, class of 1960.
He enlisted in the Navy in 1962 and worked as a corpman stationed at Balboa Hospital in San Diego, CA for two years.
He returned to Malden and married Linda Peterschick.
Tony got the urge to travel to Alaska and that is where their first child, Mark, was born.
They also made a brief trip to Florida before Tony decided the Inland Northwest was really the best place to live.
He returned to the Malden area and went to work for the Milwaukee Railroad.
They lived in Rosalia where their children Scott and Kristi were born.
He started work at the Rosalia School in 1982 where he worked until his retirement in 2003.
Tony loved dancing and also enjoyed water skiing, fishing, camping and running in various local races.
He eventually discovered golfing and enjoyed the challenge and being out on the greens.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda; children: Mark (April) Buergel, Scott Buergel and Kristi (Jeff) Robinson; grandchildren: JJ, Rachel, Danny and Holly Robinson and Ryan Buergel; sisters, Diane (Elton) Hill and Marilyn Beckett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Linda Jean Buergel.
Rest assured, he will be eagerly awaiting all of us with a practical joke, a youthful laugh and a big boyish smile.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rosalia Ambulance Fund in his memory.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, at the Rosalia United Methodist Church.
