Obituary: Maloney, Patrick George

Age 76

MALONEY, Patrick George “Doc” Patrick George Maloney of Davenport, WA, lost his battle with lung cancer Friday, August 14, 2015.

Patrick was born in Riverside, CA on June 15, 1939.

“Doc”, as he was known by his friends, was a Naval retiree.

He served aboard the USS Kearsarge in the 1960’s as a corpsman.

The USS Kearsarge, a flat top, took part in recovering some of the US Mercury space capsules.

He then served in the Sub-service aboard the USS Ulysses S. Grant as an independent nuclear corpsman.

After retiring from the Navy in 1976, Pat attended the Medics Northwest School in Seattle, WA and became a Physicians Assistant.

He then moved his family to Davenport, WA and served Lincoln County residents of Davenport, Wilbur and Ritzville as a PA until 2005.

Patrick, Doc, was known for his love of the outdoors.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, NASCAR and the resurgence of riding Harley motorcycles.

Pat rode one of his six Harley’s in all of the United States, except Hawaii.

He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandpa.

His parents, Howard and Winifred Maloney, preceded him in death.

Pat is survived by his sister, Kathleen Maloney (Tony) Martinez; sons, Brian (Alisa) Maloney and Durwin Maloney; daughter, Rhonda Maloney Nigg; nieces and nephews; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
