Area schools start to open this week and next

Several area school districts begin the 2015-16 school year this week.

Students in the Liberty School District return to school today. Students in grades 1-12 in the Spokane Public Schools District will begin class Monday. Kindergarten students begin Sept. 3.

School begins Tuesday for students in the Cheney, Riverside, Nine Mile Falls, West Valley and Central Valley school districts, while students in the East Valley, Deer Park and Medical Lake school districts begin class Wednesday. Mead schools open Sept. 8.
