Girls basketball roundup: Callahan leads Coeur d’Alene past Moscow

Emily Callahan made five 3-pointers and finished with 25 points, five rebound and three steals to guide Coeur d’Alene past Moscow 54-45 in a nonleague game Friday in Coeur d’Alene.

Isabella Holligbaugh added eight points for the Vikings (4-2). Gracey Meyer led the Bears (1-3) with 15 points.

Sandpoint 54, Bonners Ferry 31: Madi Schoening had 20 points, nine rebounds and three steals and the Bulldogs (4-6) opened the game on a 23-6 run and beat the visiting Badgers (3-2). Riley Couch added two 3-pointers and 10 points for Sandpoint. Trinity Golder led Bonners Ferry with 11 points.

Pullman 50, Lakeland 40: Anne Mari Petrino hit 9 of 10 free throws and scored 23 points to guide the Greyhounds (2-5) past the visiting Hawks (3-5). Pullman hit 16 of 21 free throws in all and outscored Lakeland 33-20 in the second half. Tauna Kirk led the Hawks with 12 points.

Northeast A

Deer Park 41, Medical Lake 38: Destanne Sunchild made all five of her free throws and scored 11 points as the Stags (1-6, 1-3) edged the visiting Cardinals (1-5, 0-3). Medical Lake was led by Bradyn Wegner’s 12 points.

Chewelah 48, Colville 27: Maggie Cobb scored 13 of her game-high 28 points in the decisive third quarter and the Cougars (4-2, 3-0) beat the visiting Indians (2-3, 1-2). Cobb also grabbed 12 rebounds. Kennedy Zema led Colville with seven points.

Freeman 51, Riverside 44: Hannah Hansen and Cassidy Crosswhite scored 11 points apiece and the Scotties (3-3, 2-1) beat the host Rams (3-2, 2-1). Allie Shannon scored 15 points for Riverside, which made 11 of 35 free throws.

Northeast 2B North

Wilbur-Creston 40, Springdale 35: Jessi Reed had eight points and 11 rebounds and the Wildcats (4-2, 2-2) withstood the Chargers’ late rally and won in Wilbur. Ailisha Smith scored 14 points for Springdale (1-4, 0-3), which cut into Wilbur-Creston’s lead with an 11-6 fourth-quarter rally.

Davenport 35, Northwest Christian 31: Sydney Abbott had 17 points and eight rebounds to lead the Gorillas (5-0, 4-0) past the host Crusaders (4-2, 2-1). Northwest Christian had a chance to tie it late, but missed a 3-pointer and Davenport sealed it at the free-throw line. Rachel Bozlee led the Crusaders with 11 points and five rebounds and Mattea Nelson chipped in 10 points.

Northeast 2B South

St. George’s 44, Colfax 38: Hailey Higashi made 9 of 11 free throws and finished with 16 points and five rebounds as the Dragons (5-2, 3-0) edged the visiting Bulldogs (3-2, 3-2). Abby Jones added 13 points and Allison Hayes pulled down eight rebounds for St. George’s. Colfax was led by Piper Kai’s 13 points.

Liberty 46, Tekoa-Rosalia 42: Christine Denny made 9 of 13 second-half free throws and finished with 29 points as the Lancers (3-3, 1-1) edged the host Timberwolves (2-4, 0-2). Nikki Overton led Tekoa-Rosalia with 13 points and five rebounds.

Northeast 1B North

Cusick 55, Curlew 28: Jocelin Nenema scored 18 points and Racheal Wynne added three 3-pointers and 17 points as the Panthers (2-4, 2-2) opened the game on a 10-1 run and eased past the host Cougars (1-5, 0-4). Korin Baker led Curlew with nine points.

Selkirk 42, Inchelium 23: Hannah Rick scored 14 points and Jenna Couch added 12 as the Rangers (5-2, 4-0) pulled away after halftime and beat the host Hornets (2-4, 1-3). Inchelium’s Randi Finley and Olivia Williams combined for 21 points.

Republic 82, Northport 26: Savannah Bowe and Shania Graham scored 14 points apiece and the Tigers (7-0, 4-0) dominated from the opening tip in an easy win over the visiting Mustangs (1-5, 1-3). Republic’s Carlie Rittel added 13 points and Demi Jo Vaughn chipped in 12. The Tigers outscored Northport 34-6 in the first quarter and led 56-14 at the half.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 43, Valley Christian 23: Brenna Oliver scored 16 points and Gabi Isaak added 15 points and 13 rebounds as the Warriors beat the Panthers (4-2, 2-1) in Coulee City.

Southeast 1B

Colton 54, Liberty Christian 30: Zoe Moser scored 13 points and MaryAnn Jacobs added 12 as the Wildcats (5-0, 3-0) extended their winning streak to 76 games with a win over the Patriots in Richland.

St. John-Endicott 66, LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus 19: Jadyn Corder led four players in double figures with 19 points and added eight rebounds in the Eagles’ win over the visiting Tigercats (1-4, 0-3). Gracie Dickerson added 14 points and eight rebounds and Abby Glorfield chipped in 12 for St. John-Endicott (3-2, 1-1).

Touchet 57, Garfield-Palouse 35: Cierra Jo McKeown scored 25 points to lead the Indians to an easy win over the visiting Vikings (2-4, 1-1). Payson Griner led Garfield-Palouse with 14 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

Pomeroy 59, Oakesdale 42: Sydney Smith scored 25 points and Kacey Halbert added 18 as the Pirates (3-3, 1-1) established control early and cruised past the visiting Nighthawks (1-6, 0-3). Oakesdale’s Jacey Johnson tallied a team-high 16 points.
