Obituary: Rodin, David William

RODIN, David William Surrounded by his family, David William Rodin passed away January 28th in Ridgefield, Washington, after a long battle with cancer.

Those who knew him remember him for his warmth, humor, and generosity.

Dave was born in Spokane, Washington to William and Jeannette Rodin.

He grew up in Deer Park Washington and developed a love for living in the country.

In fact, he was never happier than when he was poking around in an old barn.

After high school, Dave attended WSU.

He would describe these years as the most carefree time of his life.

It was there that he met his wife Linda on a blind date.

Dave went after his career with the same discipline and dedication that he applied to all things.

After graduating with a B.S in Horticulture, he became a licensed Landscape Architect and retired from the Department of Transportation after 30 years.

Dave enjoyed so many things in life.

He was a huge sports fan, an avid reader, and a collector of numerous eccentric things.

His passion was design work and horticulture, but his biggest love was time spent with his family.

Dave made it a priority to spend as much time as possible with all of them.

He was preceded in death by his father Bill and younger brother Doug; and he is survived by his mother Jeannette; his sister Laurie Pendergrass (Mark); his daughter Sara (Daniel); his son Chet (Brittany); and his wife and partner of forty-six years Linda.
