Area roundup: Cougars add three-star prospect Sean Harper

Washington State football announced the addition of Sean Harper to its 2015 recruiting class on Thursday.

Harper, a 6-foot-1 cornerback out of Hartwell, Georgia, was rated as a three-star prospect by rivals.com, a leading recruiting news site. Among other schools, Harper had reported offers from Nebraska, Louisville, Cincinnati and Indiana.

The Cougars had two open spots in their class after announcing 23 additions to the program on Wednesday.

Shock set training camp

The Spokane Shock will open their training camp on March 5 in preparation for the Arena Football League season.

The training camp roster consists of 35 players who will compete for 24 spots on the opening roster. Final rosters must be turned into the league office by 3 p.m. on March 21.

All but two training camp practice dates, March 14 and 21, will be closed to the public. Season ticket holders will be able to pick up their tickets on those dates. Doors will open to season ticket holders at 9 a.m. at the Shock training facility with practice taking place from 10 a.m. to noon for both pick-up days.

The Shock will open the season at league champion Arizona on March 28. The home opener is April 4 against Philadelphia. Kickoff at the Arena is set for 7 p.m.
