Fined Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul has been fined $25,000 for criticizing rookie female official Lauren Holtkamp after a loss at Cleveland. Paul was given the technical in a game that featured five technicals against the Clippers. After the game, Paul called the technical on an inbounds play “ridiculous” and said “this might not be for her.” Holtkamp is one of two female officials in the NBA.

Died The only NBA referee to toss Wilt Chamberlain from a game, Norm Drucker, died Friday. He was 94. Norm Drucker worked NBA games from 1953-69, then moved to the ABA from 1969-76, also serving as that league’s supervisor of officials for five years. He returned to the NBA when the leagues merged to spend one more season on the court (1976-77) before becoming the NBA’s supervisor of officials until 1981.

Denied The attorney for Dallas running back Joseph Randle denies that the Cowboy threatened his former girlfriend or pulled a gun during an incident that led to his arrest on a marijuana possession charge that was later dropped.

Signed The Buffalo Bills have agreed in principle to sign Richie Incognito, the offensive guard who has been out of football since 2013 after being one of the central figures in the Miami Dolphins’ bullying scandal. He has not played since being suspended for the final eight games of the 2013 season. Arbitration Teams improved to 3-1 in salary arbitration when the Pittsburgh Pirates beat second baseman Neil Walker and the Oakland Athletics defeated pitcher Jarrod Parker. Walker was awarded $8 million instead of his $9 million request, Parker was given at $850,000 salary instead of his request of $1.7 million. Walker led NL second baseman with a career-best 23 homers last year. Parker was sidelined after having elbow ligament-replacement surgery for the second time.

Added The USGA will conduct a U.S. Senior Women’s Open starting in 2018. USGA executive director Mike Davis said that the increasing number of top players who are getting closer to 50 made it practical to add a national championship for senior women.
