Valentine’s Dessert Ball and Social - Dancing, desserts and fun at the Northwest Christian Jazz Band’s second annual event with performances by the Tuxedo Junction Big Band and the NWC Jazz Band. Doors open at 6 p.m. for the dessert and social time. Complimentary dance instruction will be provided by Gary and Penny Smith at 6:15 p.m. with some basics and helpful tips about dancing with a partner. The Tuxedo Junction Big Band will take the stage at 7 p.m. Proceeds from this fundraiser will help supply the band with instruments and other needed hardware and repair supplies. Fundraiser Performance of “Nunsense A-Men!” - Benefits the Central Valley High School Grad Night Celebration. Doors open at 6 p.m. for cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction; curtain at 7:30 p.m. The play is basically the original “Nunsense” show with all of the characters being portrayed by well-known local male musical comedy performers. Wine, Stein and Dine - Annual fundraiser by Post Falls Education Foundation for Post Falls School District educators. The foundation has awarded over $500,000 in grants to teachers in the district in the past 18 years. This event includes local breweries and wineries with an array of foods from local restaurants. Rapid Rabbit Run - 5-mile (qualifying race for Bloomsday second seed) and 3-mile run. Trophies to top male and female finishers. Ribbons to top three finishers in each age group (both 5-mile and 3-mile). There will also be a drawing for prizes after the race; must be present to win. Hope Run – 5K or 10K run on Children of the Sun trail in north Spokane. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Organization of the Inland Northwest to help local children with cancer. All race participants receive a commemorative T-shirt. Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each event. No pets allowed. Walkers and strollers must start in the back.
