NBA Players Association members have access to new app
NEW YORK – From filing grievances to getting collective bargaining updates, NBA players have a new option.
Download the app.
The NBA Players Association has developed and launched a players-only app to keep them plugged into union news and help develop its agenda.
Launched about six weeks ago and available for iPhone and Android, the app is being used by more than 100 players, and the union expects many more to download it this week at its annual All-Star meeting.
It was developed in partnership with sportsblog.com, whose chief officer, Kevin April, said Monday they are “just getting started and we have an ambitious roadmap ahead of us that will deliver even more capabilities to NBA players, their union, and even their fans.”
Players can find out when escrow checks are available, vote issues and have access to documents and union memos that previously required email or mail.
Chief marketing officer Jordan Schlacter said the app “will serve as the interactive hub for all we are doing.”
