Obituary: Cleveland, Robert O.

CLEVELAND, Robert O.

On February 4, 2015 God helped Bob raise anchor.

He took his final voyage onto the sea that he loved so well.

He passed with a smile and a wink that only a sailor could have.

Bob had a big heart for everyone and that heart finally gave out.

He was born in Lewiston, ID to Margaret and Presley Cleveland on February 25, 1946.

After graduation from Central Valley High School in 1964, he joined the U.S. Navy.

His sisters - he said - made life at home unbearable by telling him what to do.

The Navy was an improvement.

During his naval career Bob saw the world serving on seven different ships as a sonar technician.

After the Navy Bob moved to Tacoma and worked for Boeing.

He retired from Boeing in 2004 and returned to Spokane.

Bob and Barbara were rock hounds and loved to travel around the Northwest hunting for rocks.

He took great pride in cutting, polishing and setting the stones in jewelry.

He enjoyed his friends at the Brass Faucet in the Spokane Valley, where he enjoyed singing karaoke.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and his wife (Barbara Waters).

He is survived by his sisters, Lorraine (Archie) McGregor and Sharon (Gary) Randall, and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of Bob’s life at the Brass Faucet (where he pulled his final winning pull tab), E. 12525 Sprague, Spokane Valley on Sunday, February 15, from 5 - 7pm.

A Mass will be celebrated at a later date.

We will miss you greatly brother, uncle, and friend.
