Boys hoops: Free-throw edge helps Wilson topple Post Falls

David Jenkins buried four 3-pointers, knocked down all 10 of his free throws and finished with a game-high 28 points to power the Wilson Rams of Tacoma to a 64-55 victory over the Post Falls Trojans in the championship game of the Lake City tournament on Wednesday at North Idaho College.

Wilson had a huge advantage at the free-throw line – knocking down 21 of 23 attempts, while the Trojans connected on 7 of 9.

Zach Hillman scored 13 points to lead Post Falls (9-1). Jack Millsap scored 11 and Dalton Thompson chipped in with 10 points for PF.

Lake City 63, Tahoma 36: Joe Pasquale tossed in a game-high 19 points and Nick Hancock contributed 15 points to lead the Timberwolves (4-4) to a victory over the Bears in the consolation finals of the Lake City tournament.

LC dominated the first three quarters – jumping out to a 13-7 lead after the first quarter and stretching it to 35-20 by halftime.

The Timberwolves wrapped up the win with a 17-5 third-quarter burst.
