Uncooperative driver rams car into home

A driver appeared to be unscathed after his car rammed into a house near Trent Avenue and University Road the evening of Jan. 14.

The driver was uncooperative after hitting another car and veering off the road and hitting the house, said Spokane Valley Fire Department Assistant Fire Marshal Bill Clifford. Fire crews on the scene said the man did not appear to be injured.

“The vehicle was struck into the structure,” Clifford said.

Gasoline was leaking from the white pickup and crews were initially worried about a fire, Clifford said. Traffic on Trent was blocked for a time. Police were called to the scene to deal with the driver.

Other calls from Jan. 12-18:

An unusual odor was reported on Progress Road just south of Sprague Avenue. The source of the odor was a “heavily pruned” tree.
