“The Americans”: The suspenseful adventures of Phillip and Elizabeth Jennings (Matthew Rhys, Keri Russell) resume as this Cold War-era thriller launches its third season. Now, the undercover Russian spies have differing opinions on how to handle orders from their bosses regarding their teenage daughter. “The Americans” continues to be one of TV’s standout shows. Maybe this year, Emmy voters will finally realize that. 10 p.m. Wednesday, FX.

SUNDAY: It’s more trophies for celebrities as the year’s top film and TV stars pay tribute to each other at The 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. 5 p.m., TNT.

SUNDAY: Break out the swimsuits and sashes. It’s time again for women from across the globe to compete in the Miss Universe Pageant. 8 p.m., NBC.

SUNDAY: “Sons of Liberty” is an American history lesson spread over three nights. Set 10 years before the American Revolution, this rollicking miniseries follows a radical group of young men – Sam Adams, John Adams, Paul Revere, John Hancock and Dr. Joseph Warren-as they set out to forge a new nation. 9 p.m., History Channel.

MONDAY: NFL analyst Boomer Esiason and actress Katharine McPhee team up to host “Super Bowl’s Greatest Commercials.” 8 p.m., CBS.

TUESDAY: The action heats up in “Face Off” as Josh Hutcherson of “The Hunger Games” comes aboard as a guest judge. 9 p.m., Syfy.

WEDNESDAY: “Suits” returns for its midseason premiere, and things could get ugly. That’s because the wretched Louis (Rick Hoffman) now knows the big secret – that Mike (Patrick J. Adams) isn’t a real lawyer. 10 p.m., USA.

THURSDAY: How many more jaw-dropping moments does “How to Get Away With Murder” have in store? We’ll find out starting tonight when the twisty legal thriller returns from hiatus, along with the other Shonda Rhimes dramas, “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Scandal.” 10 p.m., ABC.

THURSDAY: Yes, we are extremely sad to bid farewell to the Braverman clan of “Parenthood,” which ends its emotional six-season run tonight. 10 p.m., NBC.

FRIDAY: The eerie shenanigans just never stop on “Grimm.” Now, Nick (David Giuntoli) and Hank (Russell Hornsby) are called in to investigate a shocking homicide at a haunted house in Portland. 9 p.m., NBC.
