Obituary: Kennedy, Alice Ellen

Age 85

KENNEDY, Alice Ellen February 22, 1929 to January 21, 2015 Alice was born Evanston, Illinois, grew up in Wilamette and moved to Spokane in the mid ‘60s after she had received a degree in Occupational Therapy.

During her short life Alice avidly went after everything she did: her work as an Occupational Therapist at Eastern State Hospital, reading, wilderness adventuring, crafts and the theater.

Alice cared for and touched the lives of all with whom she came in contact, animals, and people alike.

Alice was honored in 2013 by Spokane Civic Theatre for her 50 years of dedicated voluntary services.

She sought out, provided training for and cared for OT students from all over the US.

Alice’s legacy is the love she shared with people all over the world.

She was always available, always giving, always loving and a perpetual bundle of energy.

She will be missed by her extended family communities that were blessed by her presence.

Alice’s only known living relatives are William Kennedy (Pam and Allison) of Michigan and Susan Kennedy of Indiana.

Services will be held for Alice at St. David’s Episcopal Church, 7315 N. Wall, at 1 PM on Tuesday, January 27.

In lieu of flowers, Alice would appreciate contributions to go through St. David’s or St. Andrews Episcopal Church for Inkululeko, her godson’s non profit in South Africa.
