Obituary: Blue, Muriel “Nana”

BLUE, Muriel “Nana” Our beloved “Nana,” known to many by that name, was born in Trochu, Alberta, Canada in 1918 and passed away July 2, 2015.

Her grandson and daughter were fortunate to be by her side as she journeyed to her Savior and Lord.

Muriel was the only child of James V. and N. Barbara Power.

In her younger years, her family lived in MT, CA, and settled in WA State.

She graduated from North Central H.S.

and Kinman Business University.

In the 1940’s, she met and married Homer Blue, her love for over 43 years, until his passing in 1984.

Until her recent illness, she was fiercely independent and maintained her own home with very little assistance.

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church for over 70 years.

She is survived by her only child, Claudia Ramsey and son-in-law, Daniel; two grandchildren: Joel Moberly and Monica (Nikki) Long with her husband Jeremy, and three great-granddaughters, Corinna, Carissa and Kylie.

A Rosary will be held at 7 pm on Thursday, July 9th at Hennessey Funeral Home (2203 N. Division, Spokane, WA 99207) with a Funeral Mass following the next day July 10th at 10 am at St. Francis Xavier Parish (545 E. Providence).
