Post Falls pub features beer cocktails
Cool off with “taptails,” or beer-infused cocktails, at the new Timber Gastro Pub.
Opened in May, this restaurant right off Interstate 90 in Post Falls offers four beery cocktails with stout, fruit, and brown ale or IPA. Look for the Flunky Monkey with gin, St. Germain, blood orange syrup, orange juice and IPA. Or, try the Sud-Gria with Cointreau, lemon and fresh fruit, topped with a rotating fruit ale such as sour peach or huckleberry.
The menu features sandwiches, burgers and starters, such as buttermilk-battered calamari with crisped onions and baguette slices as well as duck quesdillas and chilaquiles fries with salsa verde, chorizo, cotija cheese, cilantro and an egg.
Tacos are served on housemade tortillas. The grilled cheese features bacon and beer cheese. “Airline chicken” – with Marsala sage cream sauce, mashed potatoes and more crisped onions – is a popular entrée.
Everything’s served up by wait staff in red suspenders over an otherwise black outfit. The color theme is carried through the large, boxy building, also done in black, red, white and wood.
Not a fan of beer in your cocktails? Other adult beverages – such as the Cruiser with gin, pear-raspberry shrub, St. Germain juniper berry syrup and soda – run from $7 to $9.
