Classes and workshops

Classes include: Jewelry with Pete Jagoda: An introduction to jewelry making, using the jeweler’s saw. Students 18 and older will be making dog tags and other items. Space is limited, please register early. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. $150 plus $25 lab fee. Introduction to Relief Printing Workshop: This class will take a hands-on approach with both block carving and printing techniques, and will culminate with an “exchange portfolio.” Saturday, August 15. 1-5 p.m. $40 for each workshop. Summer Creativity Program: For children ages 6 to 12 enjoy two topics each afternoon. Dates, instructors and topics are: (Thursday) Carole Galloway - clay project and Debi Robinson-Smith - masks, (July 30) Sarah Nagle - upcycled wind chimes and Laurel Macdonald - hemp bead bracelets, (August 6) Carole Galloway - clay project and Debi Robinson-Smith - nature prints, (August 13) Sarah Nagle - string art and Jeanne Wood - drawing and embellishing castles, and (August 20) Debi Robinson-Smith - mobiles and Sarah Nagle - koi painted on a rock. 1-3:45 p.m. $18 per child per afternoon.

Let’s Paint with Tresia Oosting – Color mixing, drawing and painting classes for children ages 4-7. Each week will feature a different project. Call for artists

Chase Gallery - Proposals can come from individual artists, groups of artists, art associations or affiliations, or curators from the Inland Northwest region of Washington, Idaho and Oregon. Exhibitions are for three months duration. Please consider the public nature of the audience and the exhibition space. The gallery has limited equipment for digital media and limited sculpture display cases. Extremely small works and jewelry are not appropriate. Proposals will be reviewed by the Programming (Exhibiting) Committee of the Spokane Arts Commission for the 2016 and 2017 exhibition years. Deadline for submission is Aug. 14, 5 p.m. 808 W.
