Art on the Green Festival - July 31-Aug. 2. 47th annual art celebration and marketplace. There will be food, live music, hands-on art activities for children and more. Hours are Friday, noon-7:30 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Parking and shuttle bus service to the west side of the NIC campus from downtown is also available during the festival. Sandpoint Arts and Crafts Fair - Aug. 8-9. This two-day event features artists and artisans from across the West, as well as food vendors, live performances, a youth art arena with hands-on activities, and artist demonstrations throughout the weekend. Tree School - An educational conference for arborists, foresters, forest landowners, and backyard gardeners. This year the theme is “Wildfire: Yesterday and Today” with keynote presentations by Jack Nisbet and Mary Verner. There will also be 20 different concurrent seminars so that each participant can attend five classes of their choosing. Several classes are available for continuing education credits for Washington Pesticide licensing, International Society of Arboriculture, and Society of American Foresters. Twilight Memorial - Pet owners can honor past furry friends. The evening begins with a brief reflection on loving and losing four-legged companions followed by a luminary lighting. Spokane County Interstate Fair 2015 - Sept. 11-20. This year’s theme is “Duck Into the Fair.” Live music, animals, exhibits, amusement rides, food and much more. Fair hours are 10 a.m.-10 p.m. daily, closing at 8 p.m. the final day. Come Feed the Buffalo - Through Sept. 30. Visitors can take a tour of Win-Tur Bison Farm. They can learn about the farm’s history and bison facts during a slide presentation and Q&A session. They also will have an opportunity to meet and greet the herd and hand-feed the buffalo. Gifts, souvenirs, leather goods, jewelry and more are available at the farm gift shop. Groups welcome.
