Announced The NBA says Nike will become the league’s official uniform provider beginning with the 2017-18 season. The league said Wednesday it had agreed on an eight-year deal with Nike, which will become the first apparel partner to have its logo appear on NBA uniforms. Adidas is the league’s current provider and has two years left on its contract.

• Hungary’s Olympic committee says it supports making a declaration of intent to bid on the 2024 Summer Games. Rome, Boston, and Hamburg, Germany, have announced bids for the 2024 Olympics. Paris is also weighing a possible bid.

• On the eve of the inaugural European Games in Azerbaijan, the Netherlands has pulled out of hosting the second edition of the multisport event in 2019. The Dutch government announced that there was insufficient support for funding the event, calling the $65 million price tag too high for local, provincial and national authorities.

Extended Irish forward Robbie Keane has extended his soccer contract with the L.A. Galaxy. The defending MLS champions refused to reveal the length of Keane’s contract. Keane was named MLS’ most valuable player last winter while leading the Galaxy to their third championship in his four seasons.

Contacted Texas says it has contacted the NCAA as the school investigates allegations of academic misconduct in its men’s basketball program. The school issued a statement following a report in The Chronicle of Higher Education that mentioned potential allegations from the tenure of former coach Rick Barnes, who is now at Tennessee. In the statement, the university said it “has no information that suggests” Barnes knew of or was involved in any academic improprieties.

Accepted Sacramento Kings general manager Pete D’Alessandro has accepted a position in Denver’s front office, according to media reports. D’Alessandro is expected to work in a support role under Josh Kroenke, the president of the NBA’s Denver Nuggets and NHL’s Colorado Avalanche.
