Auditions

“Anne of Green Gables” – StageWest Community Theatre is holding open auditions for its next play, “Anne of Green Gables.” Cast of five girls, two boys, one man and three women needed. Classes and workshops

Painting with Friends Wine/Beer Glass Painting Class: It may not be football season, but it’s always a good time to get our Seahawks on. Paint a wine glass, beer glass or one of each. Cost is $30/person (cash or check) and includes all art supplies (two glasses, paint, brushes, apron) and step-by-step instruction. Monday, 6 p.m. Poole’s Public House, 101 E. Hastings Road. Wine Glass Painting: Join us as we paint our favorite flip-flop designs while enjoying the lake view from the deck. Cost is $32/person (cash or check) and includes two wine glasses, paint, brushes, apron and step-by-step instruction. Thursday, 2 p.m. Shore Acres Resort, 41987 Shore Acres Road, Loon Lake.

Upcoming classes include: Lindsey Merrell: Relief Printing: Two Color Linocuts: Merrell will teach students age 16 to adult the art of relief printing using a linoleum block to create a two-color print. This class will take a hands-on approach with both block carving and printing techniques, and will culminate with an “exchange portfolio.” Supply list available. Session 1: Tuesday, June 30, July 7 and July 14. Session 2: July 28 and Aug. 4, 11 and 18. 3-5 p.m. $80 per session. Relief Printing for Cards and Stationary: For students age 13 to adult. Truly customize your correspondence by making your own cards and stationary using the relief method of printmaking. Students will design, carve and print a one-color image using an easy-to-cut block and will leave class with a stack of one-of-a-kind notecards to send to family and friends. June 26, July 10, Aug. 7 and Aug. 21. 1-4:30 p.m. $35 for each workshop. Portrait Drawing: Learn about the proportions and anatomy of the human head, then move on to portrait drawing with a live model. For high-school-age and adult artists. Wednesday and July 1, 8 and 15, 10 a.m.-noon. $80 plus $28 model fee.

Art on the Prairie Juried Art Show Art on the Prairie was created 2014 as a venue for local artists and hand-crafters to showcase and sell their artwork. The show is dedicated to bringing you the best artists that the Inland Northwest has to offer in an intimate and enjoyable show atmosphere. ArtCurrents Program – The City of Coeur d’Alene Arts Commission is seeking artists for its ArtCurrents Program. The program consists of sculptures on loan from artists around the country. Information packets are available at City Hall or online at www.cdaid.org. Artist proposals are due by 5 p.m. July 10. Coeur d’Alene Art Grant Program – Three-year pilot program of the City of Coeur d’Alene Arts Commission seeks to widen arts and cultural participation and its expression. Program provides support from $500 up to $1,000 for projects, opportunities and events proposed by individuals, groups, organizations or communities of interest that offer a potential arts or cultural impact within the city of Coeur d’Alene.
