Obituary: Whiting, George William
passed away Friday, June 26, 2015.
He was born February 7, 1918 in Lost Creek, WA.
to George M. and Olive (Berglund) Whiting.
He graduated from Rogers High School in Spokane.
He worked for Sears and Roebuck until he retired in 1978.
He met his wife, Norine (Payne) prior to being drafted into the Army in 1942.
They eloped to Reno, NV.
They were married 51 years until her passing in 1994.
George’s interests were varied and many, including family, friends, cars, golf, fishing, bowling, cars, woodworking, camping, boating and cars.
He is survived by his son, Lynn and wife; daughter, Penny and husband; brother, Jerry and wife; nephew, Greg; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
George entered a new dimension of his life at age 79 when he met his companion Jeanne of the last 19 years.
He leaves behind his companion Jeanne and extended family; daughters Janey and husband; Jennifer and husband; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 10:00AM at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N. Pines Rd.
