WSU’s Galdeira Pac-12 1st team

For the second year in a row, Washington State guard Lia Galdeira was named to the 15-player All-Pac-12 team.

Galdeira’s backcourt mate, senior guard Tia Presley (Gonzaga Prep) was listed among the honorable mentions. She made the All-Pac-12 list last year.

Galdeira, a junior, led the conference in scoring with 19.4 points a game, and she averaged 6.1 rebounds.

Galdeira also led the Pac-12 with 94 steals and was also named for the first time to the All-Pac-12 defensive team. She had been named honorable mention on the defensive team the previous two seasons.

Oregon State’s Scott Rueck was named the John R. Wooden coach of the year after leading the No. 8 Beavers to a conference championship.

California’s Rashanda Gray was voted Pac-12 player of the year; Oregon State’s Ruth Hamblin was named Pac-12 defensive player of the year; and UCLA’s Jordin Canada was named Pac-12 freshman of the year.

Washington also had guards Jazmine Davis and Kelsey Plum on the All Pac-12 team and the Huskies’ Talia Walton was named honorable mention.

Washington’s Aminah Williams was also named honorable mention to the Pac-12 all-defensive team.
