Photo: Pedestrian killed in Spokane Valley

Hit before dawn: Spokane County sheriff’s deputies on Friday investigate the death of a man struck by an SUV on Mission Avenue near Burns Road in Spokane Valley. Officials said the pedestrian was walking eastbound in the road when he was hit by an eastbound 2002 Ford Explorer about 5:40 a.m. Deputies and medics were unable to resuscitate the man. The driver is not suspected of being impaired and cooperated with deputies, Sgt. Brett Gores said. The name of the victim has not been released.
